Top notch archery elk hunts take place on Public Lands in the Missouri River Breaks and the Burnt Lodge Wilderness Area near Fort Peck Lake. The Missouri River Breaks tend to produce some of the biggest bulls in the state, offering superb Pope and Young opportunities.
We can hunt from a comfortable travel trailer base camp using 4x4 trucks for transportation, or we offer a primitive spike camp in a wilderness area. Spike camp meals are "do it yourself" meals by the guide and hunter. Hunts can be from the base camp or split between the spike camp and the base camp. Pack animals are available to pack out game. Good physical conditioning can enhance your opportunity of success in the spike camp. We seldom go a day without seeing elk.
Terrain varies from open scattered pines, rough coulees to sharp steep draws. The elevation varies from approximately 2000' at lake level to 3100' near the spike camp.
Archery Mule deer can be hunted on private land from the ranch headquarters or hunted in combination with elk or antelope on public lands. Our private land lease of 20,000 acres offers hunting water holes, glassing from high ridges and stalking in sharp coulees with good cover. The area offers good numbers of Muleys and Pope and Young opportunities.
