Fishing
in our area is done mostly for Walleye on Fort Peck Lake. Our guides have many
years of tournament experience on Fort Peck Lake for these fish. The Walleye action
starts to pick up around the first of June and continues strong until the lake
freezes late in the year. The Walleye average between two and four pounds, with
six to ten pound fish caught fairly often. Most of our fishing is done by trolling
spinners, lindy rigs, crank baits, or casting jigs. While fishing for Walleye,
many other species have been caught such as: Northern Pike, Perch, Small Mouth
Bass, Sauger, Saugeye, and Rainbow Trout. Fort Peck Lake holds the state records for Walleye (16.29 lbs), Sauger (8.81lbs), Saugeye (15.66 lbs), and Small Mouth Bass (6.09 lbs). |
The
Fort Peck area provides a wide variety of recreation for the entire family. There
are: Power House Tours, Museums, Live Summer Theatre, Picnic areas, and the Wildlife
Refuge. In addition, the lake is 17 miles from the town of Glasgow, which also
provides several restaurants and shopping.
Fishing trips can be combined with bird hunting, and summer vacations.
